PayPal Cashback card question

 First I apologize if this is in the wrong section. 

 So in Feb I got the Cashback card from PayPal. I use PayPal a lot so it made sense. But something is driving me crazy. 

How long do payments made to the card stay under pending in your PayPal account?

I made a payment on the 28th. Late that night. So let’s just say the 29th. 

It left my bank on the 2nd. It also on synchrony’s end shows the payment completed and increased my available credit by that amount. But what is driving me crazy is that on PayPal’s site it still sits under pending. Any idea how long it will be before it leaves pending there. Since both the bank and synchrony show it. 

That way I can stop obsessing over it. Also any idea why it works this way?

it was paid from my checking but I guess through PayPal instead of how other sync cards pull right from bank.

Usually takes 2 days for me before it’s available for credit

Being that it is a new account, Synchrony is probably waiting on crediting your account to make sure there are no problems with the payments. This might happen for the next few months til they get to  know you. You can always call a CSR to make sure all is ok

I know exactly where you are coming from.

What happens when you make a payment is that your available limit will update towards the end of the day or once they start processing the payment but your balance will stay the same and then 24 hours after that the balance will update and the payment will show on your credit card account but it will remain pending on paypal for at least 1 week even though the payment has posted on your checking account already.

Don't worry about it paypal is pretty much useless when it comes to the credit card except for when you redeem your cashback cause it goes to your paypal balance.

Yes this is exactly what I meant. It shows on sync and my bank just not paypal. So I should figure about a week before it leaves the pending staus on paypals site? That helps. I think I will refrain from multiple payments through the month then. And do just one maybe two. ( not my normal habit as I pay as I go on most cards ) So I wont have tons of pending stuff on paypals site.

Agreed. It takes a few months for Synch to get accustomed to how you make your payments. After my 3rd statement I no longer had this issue.

Thanks everyone. The issue was not with sync but PayPal’s actual site. 

One pending did fall off today. So I think PayPal May wait 5 days before moving to completed.
