Is charging only a monthly cell phone bill sufficient enough to get future CLI's with PenFed? I only pay my cell phone bill with the $1000 limit I have.
Paying the account and keeping yourself in good standing is a factor. How much you charge does not seem to be a factor,

Good to know that.

Well since i moved everything from Wachovia to alliant after i got approved for a CC with allliant . I decided last night to open a savings with penfed .(for my $25 a week Direct depost for me account.) Would be nice down the road to see some offers like some of you have seen!
If those are FICO scores you have listed below it will probably happen. You might want to call one of the 24/7 CSR's though and ask if you get pre-app offers when you do not already have a credit product. Without having a credit product they won't be softing you regularly and that could be a problem.

I did not have any credit products with PenFed and I got the offers that I posted earlier in this thread.
Also, I gave in and decided to app for their Visa cash card. I probably will only use it for groceries and gas. And businesses that don't accept AmEx.

When I joined PenFed they automatically gave me the standard $500 overdraft protection. Maybe that is why they have been softing me every month or so.

When did you app membership?

Was it an instant (or almost instant) approval?

That's a credit product (Thrifty Credit Service) and reports as a revolving line of credit. They forced one of those to me after I opened my checking account without my asking for it. I had it closed and expunged from my CBR's. I can't see the point of having a $500 O/D line on a checking account that already has a tripwire at a balance of $500 to remain free. It's totally pointless.
