In a few months the af will hit on my prestige card. I use the prestige mainly for benefits not spend, since i can get better bonuses on other cards. Does it make sense to shift some spend to prestige in hopes of getting a better retention offer when the time comes?

On a side note i run a decent amount through my premier card each month.

I don't think it will make that much difference unless the spend you can put on that card is a lot.  Just ask when it comes up or call now and tell them you want to cancel the card and see if they will give you the 7X points for travel like what several people have reported that they did for them on FT.

Irish80- nice limits on all your city cards. Hoping for same results as I may get a couple more soon.

Yeah, they've been generous to me.  Good luck,  They do tend to give out higher limits for certain cards
