Product Change from PRG to different AMEX?

The $175 AF on my AMEX PRG will be hitting in a few months. I don't feel I've really gotten enough value out of this card. Is it possible to PC to another AMEX product like the green or gold card and waive the AF for the first year? I also have a Zync, but if I get rid of the PRG (or other real AMEX product) my MR pts would go back to being the less valuable Zync pts.

Yes you can PC to a Charge but Amex has a 13 month rule for changes YMMV some have had it done in less time

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

i feel like the gold and green are exactly the same other then the af so i feel like green would be a good choice since you have zync

Re: Product Change from PRG to different AMEX?

Well, I PC to PRG in April from Zync, then 2 weeks ago, I PC to Platinum. Since I am military, my AF were waived for all my cards, PRG, Costco, and Platinum. So, the 13 months is YMMV. With PRG, I was killing the 2x points or gas, but I am going to play with Plat for a while.

Re: Product Change from PRG to different AMEX?

I didn't know AMEX waived AFs for anyone who's served in the military, and that's quite awesome.

Has anyone who's not been in the military ever got AMEX to waive the AFs?
