Actually... to be more accurate, I applied for the Blue Cash card... but this one can't be TOO much different, can it?
Blue cash is supposed to be harder than Blue and Blue Sky, so...
I'm convinced Amex hates me.
That's okay, AMEX hates me too. They won't give me higher than a $600 CL when I had AMEX SPG, I PC to AMEX BSP and they gave me an increase only to take it away again saying it was a mistake (Yeah, can you believe it?). In the 3 years I've had them it's always been "no!" so join the club. LOL They keep saying I'm too high of a risk, but with less than 5% utilization 99% of the time, my salary, very very few inquiries, and a no baddie CL report with almost 12 years of history and an AAoA of 5 years, I can't figure out why I'm a high risk...maybe because I have a mortgage, a student loan, and a car payment -- that's all I can think of. AMEX just hates me...That I'm convinced on...
Honestly, I'm only in this for the "protection" benefits on electronics. I'm about to just go Discover and Chase instead (dumping Citi, keeping BofA)

If you don't mind me asking, what is you DTI? AMEX takes your other payments into consideration as well (hence the dreaded financial review when they want you to prove your salary). They want to make sure that you can pay off whatever they give you. So, if you have a lot of loans showing that consume a lot of your disposable income, that could be a reason they do not want to provide a credit line increase. Just a thought. Also, what reason do they give you for denying you? That may be able to help you determine what you need to do to move forward with them.
I had to wait a grueling 2 days when they sent my app to the special review department. But I got approved in the end. So not all hope is lost. Good luck!
MY DTI would be $36k of installment loans/$152k HHI.
Here's to hoping this ends up working out!
I hope you get the card.
patience is a virtue, good luck
