Was it a hard pull? I redeemed cash back bonus for a statement credit and unlike the past few times, I did not receive an auto CLI. I'd love to get this card over 10K which it is currently $110 away from my limit now.

Of cause it was.   I wish it was a soft pull .... then it will be another B.D present for myself.   My CL start with 2k and they gave me a $500 auto CLI once back in 2008.  I called them in the past to see if they can give me some CLI with soft pull.  But it never happened ... I guess I was not using my card enough to them to give me one.

Are you saying you have got auto CLI from Discover every time you redeemed your cashback bonus?

May be start charging more and call in ... you got to take a chance if you really want it.

That's exactly what I'm saying! I cashed in twice and both times I was rewarded. First from $7490 to $8990 then from $8990 to $9890. This last redemption a few days ago I got nothing. I want one now to put me over the 10K for this card.

The rep told me that she can request up to $5000 of increase at this moment and she did request from 2.5k to 7.5k for me.   Too bad, no instant approval for me, she said it has to be hard pull for further review and asked some questions.

Are you saying Discover is allowing CLIs with no hard pull?  It sounds like she told you that you didn't qualify for an instant decision, which meant it would require a hard pull.  So if you had qualified, would it have been a soft?  Did she specify?

Yes they do as long as you qualifies for it.   She said it is not available for me this time, and need to pull the CR if I still want to process CLI.

In a few more months, I'll be hunting  and pull the trigger with Discover too.  My account would be 2 years old.

Go for it if you want it !!   And don't forget to let us know the result ...

So, how much did you redeem?   I have small amount of a little over $100 is sitting there, and they called and asked me for redemption.   I said not right now, I am still browsing the products to redeem for it.

Re: Pulled the trigger on CLI with Discover

Just found out who Discover pulled ... they pulled TU report.  I'm in California.

I do not know the FICO TU score.  But Chase Identity Protection TU score is 852.  So, my guess on FICO TU score will be somewhere around 800.   I am going to request a CR through Annualcreditreport.com at the end of the month, and compare the scores.
