I ask because when I went to "apply" the web page was malformed and under no condition to be accepting applications...
I didn't go thru the application process but link below appears to function. There is a note on that page stating:
"As of 6/25, Special Financing offers and in-store credit applications will no longer be available."

Anyway my orig interest was reduced after Ob-Ex politely pointed-out the flaws in my logic and FinStar stated ONLY the Wally CC was transitioning to CapOne (along with a modest SUB of $25).

I would be interested to see what happens if you continue to try to start an application. That link generstes a button to apply, which leads to a statement about the conversion to Cap1, which then leads to a malformed text html page.
It appears, in addition to what was written about "in store" applications, that you also can not apply on line.....

Hmm,, interesting - that does give you the transition date of October 11. When I clicked that link in my primary browser Firefox it wanted me to log in as Firefox has my Walmart account cookies, so I copied the link and put it in MS Edge browser which I never use it did give me the option to accept the changes as of Oct. 11 and then the application page. I've had a Walmart store card since 2012 so no thanks. I'm not wild about the change to Cap 1.
Weird. I tried it multiple ways with the same result:
Previously logged in to WalMart via normal cookie enabled browser.
Logged in new to WalMart via no cookie enabled browser.
Not logged in to Walmart via different no cookie browser.
Not logged in to Walmart via no cookie browser and vpn tunnel.
All resulted in a text - html page and no opportunity to actually apply after continuing beyond the October 11 notice..

Did you click "Accept" at the bottom of the Oct. 11 notice page? There's a button for Decline and Accept at the bottom of that page, when I clicked Accept it took me to the app page. I think Synchrony has a legal/fiduciary responsibilty to continue to accept & process new apps until Oct. 11.
