Greetings... I have had a Amex Blue Cash Everyday card for 10 months now. My starting limit was the pesky $1,000 but I did get the 3X CLI at 6 months. I am looking at getting the Blue Cash Preferred card (Pre Approved) but I really didn't want to start back over with another $1,000 starting limit. So my question is, in general with Amex, will the starting credit line be higher than the first card? I'm torn between this card or Wells Fargo Active Cash card (Pre-Approved). Thanks in advance for your opinion.
EXP - 775 / INQ - 7 (All in 2022)
EQ - 802 / INQ - 3
TU - 793 / INQ - 7 (All in 2022)
Income - $115,000
DTI - 7%

I think your first step should be is to calculate your monthly spend and see how much of that spend is groceries/streaming to see if you need/can justify the BCP
do you need a grocery credit card or do you need a 2% card for non-bonus category spend?

Thanks for the reply. Right now I'm using my Wal-Mart Mastercard for grocery purchases and getting 2% back and I really don't spend very much on streaming. I also have a FNBO Evergreen card that gets 2% on purchases.

Kinda sounds like you don't really need the card then. But if you're still inclined, go for it. As far as your question, there's really no telling. It could go either way.

If I were you, I would just stick with the BCE.
There's no reason to think that the BCP's starting limit will be larger. Maybe it will, and maybe it won't.
I had $94k in limits with Amex, applied for a BCE, and got a $2k starting limit.

It doesn't bother me in the least. I just wanted the card so I could get 3% cash back on online purchases.
Remember, Amex is the best in the business at (a) making it easy to move limits from one card to the other, and (b) increasing limits without a hard pull.

Absolutely, I couldn't agree more and that's one reason why I want to develop a strong relationship with Amex and grow. Thanks again.
