No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
My advice, as mentioned upthread and to avoid any potential pitfalls with your payments going forward, especially when due dates fall on non-business days for processing, just schedule them in advance. Bear in mind, though, internally things code differently than what an agent may convey to you. Things that can impact a potential CLI, for instance. Agents can't see what's behind the scenes in most cases. Just FYI.
I made a second transfer from my NFCU checking - I transferred some money into it and made a second payment just Incase. I'm not used to having to do it this way. With my other credit cards I just pay with my debit and it goes through instantly.
Do you know what time NFCU's cut of time is ? And does it apply on the weekends ? I've called in twice now trying to get clarification and both reps told me I would be fine , with no late charges or issues from them but I'm more concerned about there internal system marking it and making it look bad for future credit cards from them.
Thanks so much for this info - I called in twice and was told them same but see other people telling me the opposite. I also made a second payment to the credit card by transferring money to my NFCU debit card and then making a payment to my NFCU credit card from them debit card since I thought it would be quicker and also a form of back up. They said they can see both payments and that I should be ok. I thought cutoff time for the payment was 8pm as well but now I'm being told it's 6:30pm.
from speaking with the reps they all seem to think it won't be an issue and there won't be any late fees etc but like I said to others what concerns me more is there internal system flagging it and it looking bad for future credit cards I apply too.
I do appreciate your comment it helps a lot - Thanks !
Honestly, I got tired of it taking so long to post that I started sending a small direct deposit to my checking and savings. Now I pay from there and the money comes out instantly so I know it's done.

730pm est mon-fri, according to their faqs:
"When will transactions post to my account(s)?"

But as I've said - the times I paid via an external account on the weekend, the payment posted with that weekend date even though it wasn't actually processed til Monday.

Your internet service could go down, power outage, drop and kill your phone, the issuers web portal not working, and the list goes on.
I would never wait until the due date.
The float of a few days interest is not close to the cost of a late.
You should change when you pay, even for issuers that allow last minute payments.

It would have been credited the same day if you would have made a transfer from your savings to your Cc. After all it's just $5.00 ...FYI , pay your payment 2 weeks ahead to be safe especially with Nfcu!!
