Say what?!
I haven't tried it myself. Just repeating what I've heard. Feel free to give it a try and let us know the results.
Pooka89 knows that you can get both cards. He is an ex Amex employee
Well then I stand corrected.

So the comment I'd made about the BCE/BCP was based on comments I'd read from more than one person on a thread I'd started a few weeks ago asking about the BCP. I don't just make stuff up to post here, but apparently some people do. And while I try to be factual in what I say, I don't claim to be correct 100% of the time, and I'm happy to be corrected, as I was above.
So here's an opinion for you...
Don't take anything you read here as fact. Sure, this is a great place to get first hand info about credit cards and a lot of people here know what they're talking about. However, as with any forum with this many people on it, you're also going to see lots of incorrect information. Sometimes even the smartest people get it wrong. We may think we're experts, but the only real experts are the people on the other end of your phone when you call your bank. They are the only ones who can tell you with authority how it's going to be. The rest of us are just spectators and rumor spreaders. And that's not necessarily a bad thing. We're all just trying to help each other out and offer and receive good advice, and that's a very good thing. But don't hold us to any factual standards. Appreciate the opinions. Sometimes they're proveably wrong, but sometimes they're just as valuable as the facts.

I think people sharing their opinions is great and don't really see a problem with that in this thread. People do give out incorrect information but others, as was done in this thread, correct them and ultimately the right answer is provided if there was a question to start with. Where you are making a big mistake is assuming what I highlighted to be correct. CSRs and others that you typically get on the phone when calling creditors are often the worst people to answer a question like the one asked in this thread. Unfortunately a lot of these customer reps are poorly trained and completely unfamiliar with their own bank's policies and give out completely wrong information. Quite often you will discover that people on these forums are a lot more knowledgeable on credit issues and more helpful than a creditor's CSR. There are absolutely times when it's better to call in on certain issues but always be prepared to be given bad answers.

Fair point. This forum is full of accounts from people who have received wrong information from bank CSRs.
Once again, I stand corrected. ![]()

First of all i was not asking for me. It was just a question. But... the reason being is my Mom maxes out her spend category on the card. She wanted a second and I said the BCP is better for what she uses it for.
Second.... I have seen plenty of people on here who have both cards, or even 2 of the same card, like 2 BCP’s.
Third.... I love how on this board when you ask a question instead of getting an answer you get a ton of opinions. Lol. Cracks me up every time.
Fourth... thank you for those who replies and gave me the answer to the question (and for the opinions I suppose)
I assume that would be via an upgrade (i.e. you have a BCP and a BCE and then upgrade the BCE)? AFAIK you cannot apply for a second BCP, whereas you can apply for both BCE and BCP. But could easily be wrong!
