My Quicksilver card is giving me the option to upgrade to the Venture One. While this doesn't really seem like an upgrade to me, does anyone have any input?
from 1.5% cash bach to 1.25 cap1 miles per dollar, thats a downgrade in my book.
Well I've got a Barclay Arrival Plus, just thought it would be neat to see if I could upgrade either of my Cap. Ones, since they took away the *&^@ account combination feature.
Same, cap1 QS is my oldest card, I got it before QS bought my old issuer and changed it to QS.
Truth is Cap1 has no better AF free card, so don't bother with any "upgrade". Im just holding it in case my spending abroad demand a MC.
Well, that's a shame that it won't be a good upgrade from the QS because I was looking to do the exact same thing with my QS card for several months now. My main reason for wanting to upgrade to the Venture One was to use the points for car rental and Airbnb stay (and I have several 1.5% cards including the QS1). I am going to apply for the Amex Hilton Honors card soon but my understanding is that the points are best redeemed for Hilton stays, which I'm cool with that.
Now, if Cap1 ever decides to let us combine card limits again or at least give us the upgrade option to the Savor One, then I would totally be satisfied with that upgrade.
Unless you use Hotel.com a lot, there is absolutely no reason to PC.
VentureONE is the worse prime card Cap One has in my opinion.
1.5% CASH vs 1.25 miles.

I’d say the QS is better. Straightforward 1.5% cash back beats 1.25 miles IMO. If you want a travel card, there are better options out there!

Right, the only advantages of Venture One are the hotels.com promo and is you can transfer your miles usefully (but earning at 1.25 means lots of spend is needed!)
Of course, there are better cashback cards then QS for that matter!
