Re: Quicksilver requested CLI after 3 months

I combined 2 of my cards to 1 and they considered that as a credit increase so they won't allow me to have another until 6 mo after the 2 were combined. I have put that card in my drawer. I only have the auto payments of maybe $80 a month on it and I don't use them for anything else. I personally am done with capital one. I have cards that are double and triple the credit line that I can use.

Everytime I have received that message it has been a denial.

Hoping this is the right place to ask, can you tell me about combining the cards? I have qs1 and a platinum card, no balance on either of them.  What exactly is combining? Can I combine those two? My thought of combining would be to put the credit limit onto the card I want to keep and close the other one? Is that accurate?

Yes that's what I did. You have to do it online and that is considered an increase even though the reps at capital one said it isn't.

Re: Quicksilver requested CLI after 3 months

When you combine the 2 cards, the CL is added to the card you want to keep and then they close the other one.

im assuming it automatically closes the account? They don't do any hard pulls or anything?  Seems like it's to simple to do...

Re: Quicksilver requested CLI after 3 months

I have gotten that letter each time I request a CLI, and like the others said, always a denial. It always says I don't make a large enough payment each month, yet I pay double of what i am supposed to. Maybe I should triple it? LOL

Re: Quicksilver requested CLI after 3 months

I have requested CLI via the love button and every single time they approved me for one it told me what my new CL would be.  I find it hard to believe anyone actually got an approval after getting that dreaded message.  Just my 2 cents.
