Re: Recommended Credit Score when applying for CC?

Scores are only part of the factor but when I received my first secured CC from my bank last year my credit score was 524 but I had been banking with them for 7 years. Discover and Capital One gave me secured cards when my scores where around 580 and recently I managed to get the Amazon Prime store CC with a TransUnion FICO 8 score of 652 but if you have negative items on your report they will play a huge factor.

Depends on how many sec/nonsec CC a person currently has, and whether you really need anymore secured cards.

I think that typically a 650 score is optimum for obtaining unsecured LOC, decent APRs and CL. Anything under 600 is going to usually just get undesirable cards thrown at them. It pays to be patient and app the right cards for your needs.
