Reducing APR

Friends,

First of all, thank you for your unbridled support and the insight that you have provided me over the past 12 months. It's nice to know that total strangers will provide the kind help and guidance that I never thought possible. It gives me hope for our species. Anyhoo, my Fico 8 scores are on an upward trend and I surmise all three scores will cross the 800 threshold by the end of Q1. If and when that does happen, do my scores give me leverage when requesting a lower APR? Or do the CC companies play hard to get.  I opened 2 Citi and a Chase CC over the past 12 months and my scores have gone from 700-710 to where they are now(777-797). I requested an APR decrease with my Citi DC and they brought it down from 17.99% to 14.24%. A also brought down my Citi AAD from 22.99% to 20.99%. Both were done sometime November/December of 2020. My Chase SP was opened on the recon line, and they started me at $5K and since it's widely known that they only give credit increases after doing a hard pull, I'm a little weary of asking them for a better APR. I really don't want a HP. I pay my cards in full every month, so it's not worth it IMHO. Let me know what's the best the course of action to getting a lower APR. Thanks.

Citi does APR reduction as you have experienced. Chase, I don't think they do APR reductions.

Thanks Allzero. Since its been less than 6 months when I got the APR reduction from Citi, when should I ask them for another reduction? Another 6 months? A year?

I think you're due one now 😁. I don't think you have to wait that long as demonstrated by BBB, even though it's an older post.
