Replacement For Wayfair?

As we all know Wayfair is closing their credit cards to all members. It is a shame I actually used it and liked their website, items, and UI.

What would be a suitable\most similar replacement for the same types of items? Home Goods? Big Lots? Overstock? Or something else I am missing? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thank you

Overstock is probably the best and closest replacement. They have a lot of the same stuff, plus jewelry, electronics, and more that WF never carried.

Re: Replacement For Wayfair?

While yes this is a credit card forum, let's be careful not to allow financing alone to determine what we buy and where we buy it.

Store cards often provide either rewards % back OR special financing.

If you have a one-off need for a furniture purchase a new Amex, MasterCard, or Visa network card may be better.

Those may provide both rewards and promotional financing.

In addition, store cards generally have deferred interest while Amex, Mastercard, and Visa cards have zero interest offers.

Should you not pay off deferred interest accounts in full by the time the deferral interest period ends, the interest cost will be very high.

In contrast with a zero interest promotion offer for purchases, interest starts to accrue only after the no interest period ends.

Re: Replacement For Wayfair?

The rumor is that Citi will be taking over the credit cards for Wayfair, AllModern, etc.

Alternatives include West Elm, Crate & Barrel, CB2, Blue Dot, Room & Board, Article, and so on.

Interesting. I had not seen that rumor -- have you a link?

Re: Replacement For Wayfair?

I wouldn't want to feel tied to a single merchant. Selection, pricing, and availability/delivery time vary. I've bought a lot of this kind of stuff in the last few years and there's no merchant that wins in every respect.

Don't be drawn in by 0% financing if you can find the item somewhere else for half the price!

Build.com/faucet.com are good...but it can be a PITA to return anything.

Etsy has a lot of soft goods.

I got some nice kitchen sinks off Amazon.

Hayneedle is a Walmart subsidiary with occasional "favorably dysfunctional" discount codes. 10% off became 60% off somehow.

Personal spend: Amex Gold, Amex Schwab Plat., BofA PR+CCR(x2), Costco
Business use: Amex Bus. Plat., BBP, Lowes Amex AU, CFU AU
Perks: Delta Plat., United Explorer, IHG49, Hyatt, "Old SPG"
Mostly SD: Freedom Flex, Freedom, Arrival
Upgrade/Downgrade games: ED, BCE
SUB chasing: AA Platinum Select

Wayfair accepts PayPal Credit (PPC) which offers no interest on  $99+ purchases paid in full in 6 months (i.e., a deferred interest financing). You are able to utilize PPC at most online retailers that accept PayPal; I say most because there may be an exception I'm unaware of.

The rumor comes from a Wayfair employee on Reddit.
