Requesting CLI on AMEX and all other Cards...

Hey guys,

so I use my platinum charge card for everything, everyday purchases to vacations. And also have an everyday AMEX revolver, yet I was wondering how do you thinking it'll look if I apply for a CLI on the everyday card even tho I don't use it for anything.

I was for some reason looking to apply for CLI on all my cards, but I use Amex as a catalyst, at least when I use to use my revolvers heavily, Given that I have my largest limits with AMEX, I up them first then will CLI all my other lines. Any opinions guys?

Doing CLIs on all your cards at once sounds like a bad idea to me.  If any of the banks figures out that you're doing that, you suddenly appear to be desparate for credit in their eyes.  Pick on card for now, and do another one in a month or two.

With Amex all of your cards are looked upon as one account. Whether you're using one or more of them. You can request a CLI on any. The usage is for the entire account.
As far as requesting CLIs elsewhere. Knock yourself out. A lot of my cards CLI request fall around the same time. It shouldn't be a big deal..it hasn't for me.

I agree with Gmood1, go for as many CLIs as you like (provided they are SPs). Companies (in my experience) don't mind you having higher creedit limits. However, start letting balances show on a lot of cards and they will take notice.

100% agree.  Just did sp cli's on my Citi cards (3, all approved) and my Disco cards (2, both increased).

I had no idea that's how Amex looked at the cards. But thank you! Deff gonna pull the trigger on them!

This is the reason why you can only get one CLI on one card at a time, across the entire account every 181 days. It doesn't matter how many cards you have with them.😀

They see it as an account CLI. Amex makes it easy to shift limits around on their cards inside your web account.
