Re: SWEET APR!

You asked so,

I have 7.74% APR on a BCP card that was originally a standard Blue from Amex that I got back in 2007. I also have 8.24% on a Citi Platinum Select World MC that they don't offer to new customers, but since I haven't done anything to tick them off they haven't raised that one to market rate yet, either.

I assume that APR is grandfathered but I haven't seen any noise about it going up, either.

Re: SWEET APR!

At the time the card was issued my scores were around 745. They're currently in the 750 range across the board.

My credit profile hasn't changed much since I got the card. Lending was looser in 2007.

Re: SWEET APR!

Eh, aren't we all PIF folks on this site, especially with AMEX?  If so a reduced rate means nothing.  AMEX does have lower rates on other cards, this is nowhere the lowest rate available.  Try PRIME + 2.5% on a long term Optima account but if you PIF it's not worth anything.

I'll agree with you on that 99.9%

But there might come a day, you never know, that for some reason, you can't PIF and have to carry a balance for at least a month. That different between the 20% and the 10% could really save some money on a rainy month.

Re: SWEET APR!

Just got instantly approved today for the AmEx BCE (17.24% APR).

How long should I wait until I request an APR decrease?

Re: SWEET APR!

I just called in and had my cost true earnings card APR lowered to 12.24 from 15.24 and

they said I could call back and see about getting the rate even lower
