The Cap1 Qs1 was my first card 7 months ago with bad credit. Since then, my score rose to over 700 and in the last month I've acquired 4 very good cards (see siggy) that will grow to more CL than I will ever need. I'll just use them to grow my score even more.
Don't really need the QS1 and the AF anymore and would like to PC to a QS. After all the recent HPs for new cards, my score is @693. What would be a good target score to ask for a PC to regular QS?
Your score should be more than enough. The trick will be for an "offer" to become available. It's generally easier to PC a Platinum than it is a QS1. If you don't succeed right away, keep trying. And keep using the card every month.
I have had a QS1 for over two years now, and it's still stuck at a $750 credit limit, and I've never had an offer on it for anything: no upgrade, no additional credit limit, no interest rate reduction, nothing.
In the meantime, my scores have risen substantially, I pre-qualify for every other prime personal capital one card offered, and I still can't do anything with this card. I also have cards with good limits (>$10k) from Amex, Discover, and even the Cap One GM Buy Power people upped my crappy limit to $2500.
I've read from others that sometimes (all the time?) when you get a subprime card, like the QS1, with capital one, it'll stay stuck no matter how much better your credit profile becomes. That's been the case for me.
I'm probably closing this shortly since it doesn't do me much good at that limit, and of course there's an annual fee.
It shouldn't stop you from trying, and maybe you'll have better luck, but don't be surprised if your requests don't go anywhere.

Since you only got the card 7 months ago and your current score is good, you could have better luck from a credit line perspective to just close the QS1 and apply for a no-fee Quicksilver.
