Should I app for CSP and CSR

Got both offers on my chase account with single aprs.

Planning on booking a trip soon to take advantage of the subs. Haven’t app’d For a credit card in quiet some time so don’t have to worry about 5/24.

Also I wouldn’t wanna keep them due to the AF, so I would just merge them to the Freedom when the time comes

Smart move ? Thanks for advise

Re: Should I app for CSP and CSR

Chase now limits customers to one Sapphire card at a time.

It is possible to get two Sapphire cards, but special techniques (as others describe below) are necessary.

Personal spend: Amex Gold, Amex Schwab Plat., BofA PR+CCR(x2), Costco
Business use: Amex Bus. Plat., BBP, Lowes Amex AU, CFU AU
Perks: Delta Plat., United Explorer, IHG49, Hyatt, "Old SPG"
Mostly SD: Freedom Flex, Freedom, Arrival
Upgrade/Downgrade games: ED, BCE
SUB chasing: AA Platinum Select

Re: Should I app for CSP and CSR

There is a special CSP offer on the Chase website: "Earn up to 80,000 Bonus Points Earn 50,000 bonus points after you spend $4,000 on purchases within the first 3 months of account opening. Plus earn an additional 30,000 bonus points after you spend $30,000 on purchases within your first year of account opening."

CSP has a waived first-year AF while CSR has a $450 first-year AF. CSP could work out to be better than CSR for a year...depending on how much you spend, how much is on bonus categories, and which benefits you want. Personally, I'm willing to pay more for CSR for the superior benefits.

Re: Should I app for CSP and CSR

Also worth mentioning that if your ultimate goal is to use the URs to book travel through the Chase portal, the extra .25 cents per point could offset the AF depending on how many points you’re using.

There are ways around it but you would have to double dip same day and for some people doing 8k in 3 months may be hard to do.

I've already debunked that claim here before.   If your credit profile is strong enough and you're outside the 5/24 and 24-month bonus restrictions you can still get both cards and collect both SUB.  Here's a link on describing how to do it:

https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/8oirea/guide_to_doubledipping_csr_and_csp_with_chase/

There are several DP in that thread of success, but this has been a known loophole with multpile successful DP since last fall.

Re: Should I app for CSP and CSR

Thanks for the input guys. I’m more so thinking of using the rewards subs on one of them being that 8k is a lot. I’m more so wanting the limits as I know they say chase is more giving on new apps than on CLI request.

So I’ll be transferring both limits if I was able to double dip to the Freedom.
