Alright, so we have 1 for and 1 against.  Anyone else?  Really looking for some opinions.

I was approved for Gold Delta Skymiles with EX 662, 5 INQs, 14% util, 1 unpaid CA (6.5 yrs old).

I have seen them approve as low as 640 or so, but as always, YMMV.

Baddies under two years old seem to be a dealbreaker in borderline cases, but again, YMMV.  It doesn't sound like you have any of those anyway.

Also if you are approved, be aware that they are known for frequent A/Rs via softies on EX.  If you are planning on an app spree anytime soon and a bunch of new accounts show up, they are easily spooked by things like this.

I think the mixed feelings re: Wamu have to do with a very quirky CC approval process.  There is no sure thing with Wamu, regardless of your scores.  Lots of people approved in the 500s and lots of people denied in the 700s.

They also seem to be rather stingy on CLIs.

GF (all scores over 750) has a Wamu Plat with $9K CL / $37 bal.  Called to see if she is eligible for a rewards program of any kind.  "Not at this time."  WTH?

Re: Should I or shouldn't I????

Me?  I love my Wamu.  I'll say it again, it was the first card I got after my HSBC and they have been very generous so far with the CLIs and upgraded the card I had to rewards without me even asking, just had to choose the reward sturcture I wanted, points or pennies.  Maybe it had somethng to do with the type of card?  Who knows.

Which Chase card can OP get with low 600s?

I might be interested in that myself.

Chase Visa, nothing fancy.  Preferably the one marketed towards students or people rebuilding credit.  I got one with 0% apr for 6 months, no annual fee, and automatic CLI from $500 to $800 after six months.  Then they reduced me...but I talked them increasing me to $1000 this week.  Woohoo!  It was my first credit card though, so lord knows I had nothing to go off of.

Chase denied me at Circuit city, I have a collection that is showing unpaid on EQ that I am disputing.  That kicked me out with them.  Show i even risk the AMEX?
