Re: Should I upgrade from CSP to CSR?

I called reconsideration line yesterday. Denied again. I called again today and was APPROVED for the $10k credit line!

A few minutes later I called customer service and upgraded. When I log in it shows CSR.

New cards will be in the mail in 3-5 business days, but the benefits begin immediately (I think).

Should I do a happy dance? Hahaha.

You should  totally do a happy dance!  Excellent job on being persistent and getting that done.  Enjoy the CSR and congrats on that CLI.

Re: Should I upgrade from CSP to CSR?

😃 Way to go & Congrats!!

Yes,... yes please. Do the dance... again!

& thanks, I have never heard of a 2nd or 3rd recon resulting in an approval.  I may try this layer this year, if I have too!

Re: Should I upgrade from CSP to CSR?

I called right back after my first recon call because I didn't think the underwriter understood what I was telling him. I have two loans from my company's credit union -- a car loan and a personal loan. Both are two years old, but the credit union was acquired by another one in July of last year and all of the accounts were closed out and restarted by the acquiring credit union. Chase denied me because they thought I had too many new accounts. I explained this during the first recon call but I don't think he believed me.

The second underwriter was very sympathetic and helpful and explained a few things. He couldn't help me -- said Chase only allows one recon/day -- but encouraged me to call back the next day to take another shot. He also said I could call back every day for 30 days since my credit was hard pulled.

I took his advice and got a much more sympathetic underwriter the second day who approved my CLI. Persistence, I guess!

I have to say, though, that there was no way I would call back again if I were denied the second time. It just wouldn't have been worth my time. I don't really need the extra credit line, I'm a good customer, I have never once paid late and I could take my business elsewhere. Thankfully, the second underwriter figured this out.

I could not have done any of this without reading the stories on this forum over the last year or so ... so thanks, everyone!
