Re: Single Everyday or Multiple Cards

I think there should always be four cards in one's wallet.  One for each network in case something goes wrong.

Amex OBC is my goto card

Discover for special categories

Highest cashback visa

Highest cashback mastercard

For me, the rest of the cards will be for the purpose of UTIL.

Discover IT $19,000 == 12/2013
AMEX 12/2013 ---BCP $12,000 === BC $23,000 ----- 04/2014
CHASE SLATE $5,700 === 12/2013
BoA 123 $6000 === 12/2013
Barclay Rewards $1500 == 12/2013

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the straight cash back value of the UR points is idential to 1% on the Freedom which is the same as Discover.

I don't know why people always say the Chase solution is better because for travel, yes it absolutely is, but for straight cash it seems to be exactly the same redemption value. If you do have a CSP and freedom, you would gain more points/therefore cash with restaurants which you could then cash out, but you'd have to eat out a lot to cancel out the 95 dollar fee I would think.

If its pure cash back then yes discover and freedom are the same, but i was talking for travel purposes using UR to trasnfer to airlines, you will get around 2 CPP value instead of 1 CPP.

Yes but you can transfer to the csp where you can't with discover .   Personally I also rather earn points in one then in 5 different ones since I am already using 3-5 cards regularly

Why? Because you get .5% less on it?

Re: Single Everyday or Multiple Cards

It's nice to redeem anytime, but in practice how often would you redeem for less than 25 anyway? I agree the policy on double cash of having to wait until 25 is silly but it also would seem silly to redeem for say an 8 dollar statement credit. Lol Smiley Happy
