Re: Star Trek Visa Cards

Love it. I would get the Captains card too. The other designs are too busy and you can't tell what they are. But with a max APR of 17.99 there is no way I would get approved. All my cards seem to have to be higher than that. Plus, I am not a member of NASA. But would be cool to have. You would think they could do a non-embossed version though. I wonder if they will add other type cards int he future. A Klingon and Vulcan card would be cool. Who does NASA pull?

Re: Star Trek Visa Cards

There is a lot of info on NASA FCU on here, do a search.
They pull EX.. and the reason the max APR is 17.99 is that a CU cannot go higher than 18%...
NFCU $60.4k/PenFed $22.5k/Commerce $15K/53 $11K/Synovus $14K/BBT $11K/CapOne $12K/DCU $7.5K/BMO $7.5K/Chase $14.5k/Cabelas $10K/ and many many more!
Total CL $398600, plus car and RV loan.
Ooh. Ooh. Getting closer to that $500K mark!

Re: Star Trek Visa Cards

I wasn't curious as to why the APR is what it is, its just a sign that I need to avoid it. If I did happen to get approved, my SL would be really low. I don't need to be apping. But, the card looks really cool.

Re: Star Trek Visa Cards

At first I was leaning towards the Captain's card.  Clean, and iconic.  The more I look at it, though the more I like the Starfleet Academy card.  It seems like that one might catch someone off guard and surprise them when they realize it is a Star Trek card.  The Captain's card is very obvious.

Re: Star Trek Visa Cards

NASA CU, was a pain in the butt to try and join for me. Then they started cutting back alot of members credit lines just because. Im not a fan but the Space Shuttle visa looked really cool. Id probably pick Star Trek over Star Wars though my fav was Next GenerationSmiley Wink.

Re: Star Trek Visa Cards

I've had the card for almost two years (the Starfleet Command flavor). I was always a fan of Star Trek so I put myself on the waiting list when it was first announced.

that being said, it's my least used card, mainly because the rewards are meh...I'll occasionally throw a cable bill on it just for activity, otherwise it doesn't get any use

Re: Star Trek Visa Cards

The design of the cards is pretty cool, but they come with a $39 AF and the reward program is not competitive.  So basically, you'd be paying $39 per year just to have the card design.  Maybe get the card for the sign-on bonus then cancel and you can keep the card design without having to AF on an active card.
