Re: Store Cards for Rebuilders

I would go with gemb or wffnb or Macy's but if you want to get something for sure get fingerhut they report to the CB all 3 for me some say they only report to 2 of them though

always use credit wisely and you won't ever feel like you're working just for the task master

Target is one of the easier cards, but you have to apply in the store.

Macy's is also said to be easy.

Re: Store Cards for Rebuilders

I was approved for Macy's in December 2010 with scores in the mid 500s.  It was an instant approval for $100 but was raised to $400 the same day by calling customer service.  Was stuck there for what seemed to be a loooooong time with declines for anything above about $414.  I've used the card every month and PIF every month since it was opened.  Now, I was able to use it for purchases totaling $1900 with no decline last week (paid it in full yesterday as well).  I really just wanted to see how far I could go since they say they don't have credit limits anymore so to speak.  But they have something because I used to get declined for charges over my prior limit but don't anymore.

Gardening as of June 2020. No activity until January 2023 unless it's an auto CLI.
Starting Scores (6/30/2020): EQ 640 | EX 660 | TU 658
Current Scores (05/22/2021): EQ 678 | EX 714 | TU 689
Goal Score: 800

+1 for Target. Plus the permanent 5% off everything doesn't hurt either.

Re: Store Cards for Rebuilders

I have had better luck X3 by applying in the store than online.  JCP gave me a 300 limit in 2007, only 2 years post-BK and I don't know what my scores were but they weren't good.

Lowe's approved DH at the store, but Home Depot declined - we were in the store at Lowe's, Home Depot was online.

CareCredit gave me 1000K line of credit from the dentist's office -- but last week declined me when I requested online.

Maybe this is just my luck.  But maybe the banks thing you are def. going to use the card if you are at the register and are more lenient??

STARTING: 11/24/10 EQ-584 EXP-648 TU04-595
CLOSED FIRST HOME 8/19/11 EQ-630 EXP-691 TU04-653
CURRENT: EQ-701 EXP-??? TU08-720
