For the life of me I cannot get a lowes CLI. My fico 8 scores are about 750 and my account has been been open close to 3 months. I put a small charge ~$15 on each month and paid it off before the statement date.
Each time, by phone or online it's says not enough experience, blah, blah blah. I'm stuck at a SL of ~$2000. I'm curious what might be causing this, spend, income or something else. So random!

A couple of things... first of all, try letting the statement close with a balance.  If you continually have statements that all show a zero balance that might be the cause of your 'not enough experience' denials.

Second, when you call, are you calling the number on the back of the card?  If so, try calling Credit Solutions instead: 877-379-8173.

I would actually give CS a try now, and if that didn't work out then try letting the statement cut with a balance due and then give it another go.

Yes, for Lowes to consider you for a CLI you have to let a charge post and report I found. If youre going to ask for a CLI regardless of your current limit ask for $50k. The common denominations I know of are $17k and $35k. I believe there is one common one lower and they an act like stairs. Glad I could share my data points for everyone, thats why we are all here to help each other out. Thank God it was an account I was past finding useful and I have def. used some other cards this week that I never use lol

Thank you very much, UncleB & signaturecardmember! I was so busy doing AZEO I didn't realize I needed to let it report a balance. I'll try that then give Credit Solutions again after the statement cuts.

You're very welcome!

You might consider just calling CS now; in the past they weren't sensitive to usage (the 'not enough experience' reason is usually when you use the regular channels).  If by some chance CS doesn't work out, then try letting a balance report and try again.

Also, note that while many people 'aim high' with CS, anything over $35k usually requires proof of income, so most people aim a little lower unless you have a specific need (I asked for $20k and got it).

Finally, in the past Synchrony has had a cap of $100k across all Synch credit lines, so that might be another consideration when choosing how high to go.  A few people have reported having combined Synchrony lines that are slightly over $100k, but it's not common.

Good luck!

Re: Synchrony/Lowe's Card Warning!

Letting a statement cut, reporting a balance etc. should be a non-issue when it comes to a CLI.  Many people call and request a CLI before they ever swipe their card.  I think I called before I ever even received the card, like 2 days after approval.  My point here is that anything spend-related shouldn't be the constraint to getting a CLI through Credit Solutions on a Lowe's account.

I also agree with Uncle B that going for > $35k (like $50k as suggested) is sort of pointless.  I don't believe I've ever heard of anyone reporting the ability to achieve > $35k on their Lowe's card without IV.  If you're comfortable providing IV then sure, shoot as high as you want... but for an instant CLI I do believe $35k to be the max.

Yes, some people are able to get a CLI without spending anything. I have a handful of data points with people I know personally with great credit, income etc,  not getting anything with several requests then spending money on the card ( small amounts) letting it bill, paying it off, then magically the flood gates open. I guess its a Your miles may vary deal with them.

Im not sure if I had heard uncles point before about being asked for POI for >$35k since I have not been on as often as I usesd to be, but this is good info to know. Sounds like just keep asking for $35k then and let them give it to you or counter if you want to max it out.
