Please don't get me started on Target. Have tried over and over since my BK in 2001 with them to get the Target Visa and keep getting the Red Card instead with $200 limits on each one. I now have 4 of them @$200CL/each and they stay in the sock drawer! They won't combine them into one card either! Puuuhleeease!
If they haven't upgraded you, they are not going to approve you for Visa when you reapp.... Target softs more than anyone. Close the newest three and use the other sparingly like every three months. I had BK on 2000 and was upgraded to Visain one year. My limit sucks so I will be closing but wth?BTW the upgrade is just a store card on steroids. Still has Store card APR

Good advice, Brammy! I guess I'll just keep the 1st one, start using it, and hope for the best later on down the road!
I'll be closing mine somewhere around June. Low limit and high interest. We are not friends. I'm sure that they don't appreciate the fact that I PIF but then again I think they encourage that seeing their lowest interest rate issomethig like 17%
I also got the Target visa for the 10% discount with a cl of $5,000 back in November. When I received the card and saw the apr - 23.99% I was so upset that I called and cancelled the card. In retrospect I probably acted to hastily. It was my intention to PIF anyway but since my sister's apr was 13.99% I just couldn't see even bothering with it.

The gave me the VISA with a $5000 CL and I closed it about a year later (yeah, stupid, pre-myFICO). I wonder if they've changed their criteria and if I'd end up with the $200 limit now or not?Are they still offering the 10% discount on your first purchase at the store? I remember it took maybe 20 minuets to apply in the store, felt like a very onlg time. Or furnature came to about $225. It would have sucked to apply, just to get the 10% discount, and then be rejected, or accepted with only a $200 limit.
