I know of this. But it is not popular in US and not that many places accept this card. I guess this is card for people who travel frequently to Japan and want to use the card both in US and Japan.

It's popular throughout Asia.  JCB has an agreement with either Visa or MasterCard (don't remember exactly which), but not sure if their agreement extends to acceptance in the US.

Could be in US they have an agreement with Discover, but not in the Asia - Pacific Region.  In Asia their agreement is with Visa or MasterCard.  Discover in Asia (excluding China) is virtually worthless.

So I guess that even they understand the limitations of JCB?  Smiley Happy

JCB is mostly accepted in west coast states, and there often in areas with a large Asian population. While you may be able to buy your groceries with a JCB card in Los Angeles, it's not really useful where I live.

And even then, we already have Visa, MasterCard,. Discover & AmEx.  Is there really a need for one more?
