Just an FYI. I just got off the phone with them. You can request an increase now, all they ask for is your gross monthly income and then an area reviews it. She said I should be seeing a CLI no problem. I'm at $600 now.
I just called about this 2 days ago. The rep said that they have "monthly reviews" and you could submit your case into the review. After they review it, if you get a CLI, they'll mail you a letter and the CLI will be updated on your next statement. If they don't approve the CLI, nothing happens and we don't even get a letter. She said it wasn't so much as 'requesting an increase,' it was just updating your income (she asked for annual) if it has changed since you applied for the card.
I guess we'll see what happens! I'm at $2000 now and have no idea if they'll increase it or not. I spend way too much at Target as it is, though!
Target had me at $200 for 9 months no matter how much I spent - obviously not more than $200 at a time. Always PIF assoon as it posted on my account.
I have scores in the 740-750 across all CRA's and 5 figure CL's on about 50% of my cards- no lates, no negitives and no "need" for a Target card other than the 5% off each trip - basically pays the sales tax.
Closed the card, waste of my time - funny thing J. Crew was the same way would not budge over $250. If you try to to figure out "lenders" as an absolute, it never works.
Just to add a point for those who want their accounts reviewed, AFAIK (although more folks would need to confirm once this process is effective) that any customer initiated CLIs under this review policy would result in HP.

+1 Not worth it, and will definitely hand out low cli's..... All I can say Target is lucky the give 5% discount for using their card....

There was no mention of a credit pull and they didn't read the disclosure about it either. Anyway, they can try and pull my report but they are all frozen now.
It's best to always ask (whether they know or don't know it's another thing). Keep in mind, if you are requesting a CLI, it's an extension of credit so any reviews for such can constitute permissible purpose without having to tell you that up front. Updated income is also requested.

Thank you for the update. I received a letter from the EO basically stating that "grandfathered in" customers do not qualify for CLI. In order words, you can close the old one and apply for the new one. It is interesting that they are allowing customer for CLI. I have this Target Visa Card since 1997 and the only reason I haven't closed it because is my second oldest card I have in my report.
Thank you for the information. I just logged into my account to check it and I was given a $500 increase without asking. I started with $300 in May and have use dit sparingly and always pay in full.
