Just logged into my account and the exact same thing happened to me. Had 3k, now showing 12k.
Got home today and saw a Target envelope in the mail and thought, "WOO HOO!" Opened it and it said, "Didn't think your REDcard could get any better? We've just added more spending power to your Target Credit Card. Your new credit limit is $9,000!"
No mention whatsoever of a Mastercard upgrade. **bleep**?!? SOOO disappointed....
I flipped through a little more of the mail and found a SECOND Target envelope. "Congratulations! On 10/16/2018, your existing Target Credit Card will be converted to a Target Mastercard..."
I'm back to "WOO HOO!!!!"

LOL!! I would love to have either one of those envelopes right now! Im sitting at $2k, and long overdue for a CLI. I decided to put nothing on it this month to see if it doesnt trigger anything. Ive tried leaving a balance, not leaving a balance, updating my income every month....nada!
Believe me, I had tried absolutely EVERYTHING mentioned in the forums and it just didn't seem to matter. I actually hadn't used my card last month and it was PIF when this happened, so I have no idea what triggered it. I had been at $2,000 for 6 1/2 years...

Same exact thing happened to me. Slightly bummed we have to wait until October for our new cards though.
WOW! So exciting for everyone! My Target card was opened in 2012. It is at the same limit of $3,000 as it always has been. I always PIF and use it at least once a month or more. I never get a CL increase. I have never asked for one either. Today my limit remains the same and no special enevelopes in the mail either. Anyways....what are the added perks with the MC verson?

Usually a higher credit limit and the ability to use the card outside of Target.
At this point I could care less if I get the MC version. I will still only be using the card at Target unless they offer some sort of fantastic promotions outside of Target.
