In my opinion, I think it has to do with scores and credit profiles. I never got a thing other than an occasional CLI. When my FiCO hit 740, I started getting larger than what I’m used to CLI’s and then the upgrade.

I use my card in Target at least once a week.

fyi, I am not really using the card other than preventing it from account closure for inactivity, because Target does not really have anything I wanna buy

With a FICO score that high, you should have gotten the MC by now.

It seems like the Target Redcard & the MC from TD Bank get a regular amount of air time.  It also appears that no one knows why certain holders get CLIs and, futhermore, the "coveted" upgrade.  Thought it would be kind of useful or at least entertaining to get some DPs on your Redcard into one thread.....    

Given the replies, I can transfer the data into a spreadsheet and provide the results for a quick read.   

So the DPs to be collected in addition to your MF User name would be:

1. Redcard Open Date
2. Starting Limit
3. If Applicable, MC Conversion Date 
4. If Applicable, New MC Limit
5. Current Limit 

TBH, I don't always keep up with my scores (sorry) and would prefer to exclude this DP as well utilization/spend and other factors for simplicity.  Data would be shown as:

User	Open Date	Redcard Starting Limit ($)	MC Date	New MC Credit Limit ($)	Current Limit ($)
