If you can afford the fee for the cards to build history, it's worth it. Some people cant stand fees, but when my credit score was 573 it was the costs of rebuilding

So what other secured card should I go with? I think I'll do this and build them both up to at least 1000. That way I'll have two and it wont put me out too much.

I don't presently, I am going to graduate school this fall for a doctorate in clinical psychology and taking the HPSP through the Army. So I should be commissioned by next year if all things go smoothly.

Congrats on your upcoming graduation and commission.  I would still say proceed with your bank or a local credit union.

She said they were pending an approval and thats all she could tell me and that I would hear from 7-10 days of this past thursday. So is this good news lol?
