To close or keep open?

I have a department store card (David's Bridal) that was opened last February and paid off this past January. I highlu doubt I'll be using it again lol and wondered if it would be wise to close it or not. On one hand, I really have no reason to keep it open and know that they may deactivate it if I don't use it after so long, but it has a pretty decent CL ($2500) and with a 0$ balance, helps my utilization.

What do you normally do with store cards like these? Thanks for any advice!

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: To close or keep open?

i say leave it open till they close it, i don't think them closing it for inactivity vs closed by consumer will have any neg impact on your score.  once its closed the line wont count towards your ultization, but it should cont to show on your report for upto 10 yrs if it was all positive history and will help w/ AAOA till it falls off. i will likely have the same sit eventually i got a khols card but don't shop there much but i figured i can always just go by a pair of pants or jeans if need be to keep it open.

Leave it open until they close it.  Let it help your UT until then.  Likely it'll be a couple of years.
