Re: TransUnion

Here's a recent thread about who pulls who. Maybe someone should keep it updated - would be very useful:

How about putting a freeze on your EX and EQ reports?  That way, when you app,  only those who pulls TU will successfully be able to retrieve the TU report only.

I have always wondered why I see the above mentioned so many times on the board and have been shy to ask about it. How does "freezing" a report translate to positive action for the person trying to obtain credit. So I apply for XYZ company and my EX and EQ reports are frozen. What happens if they dont normally pull TU reports? Does this mean i get denied and would have to unfreeze the report they normally pull? I do not understand how the freezing process is beneficial. Thanks in advance.

A real database will have to be worked out through Lithium, the site gurus, and my understanding is that it couldn't be done.

It would be possible to have an ongoing thread for this, but it would be a nightmare to keep current --sort of like the back-door number and BK-friendly and SOL-by-state stickied threads all rolled together, times 27.

I'll ask (again) if there would be some more efficient way of creating this. There is definitely a need for it!

Re: TransUnion

Hauling . . . . may I suggest that the database be constructed outside Lithium as a sql or even Access file.  Then, in the thread, link to the database.  I've don that quite often and it seems to work flawlessly.

Orrrrrr . . . . just link to one of the outside sites that maintain some such database . . . . NOT WPMC.

Just a thought.

Ill see if we can kick it around. The trick will be staying in compliance with the TOS and all. Since the forums are sponsored by a corporation, there are more constraints on them than on some of those built-in-a-basement ones. Good suggestions!

This is likely the real problem. Wouldn't want to irritate the customers that pay in the real money!

It would be a very, very good resource and I'm sure a very popular one as well - see what you can do. If it comes to making it a sticky thread, maybe one for each CRA to make it a bit more organized and managable...

Well, I know that everyone adores a good conspiracy theory, but I seriously, seriously doubt that this is the case. Do remember that the forums are run completely by volunteers who have paying jobs that occasionally require our attention, plus an overworked admin who has many other responsibilities besides the forums.

Sometimes you have to triage the wish list and address the most do-able things first.

Re: TransUnion

Could also be a factor that FICO (aka Fair Isaac) not be too directly involved in reverse engineering their true customer's processes. That's not really a conspiracy theory - it's just plain old good business! (Not biting the hand that feeds you that is!)
