Hello everyone. I'm a newbie here to the forums and would first like to thank you all in advance for your insight. I've currently have had credit for about 6 years now. After reading numerous posts and learning more about credit cards, I'd like to ask for advice to maximize all the perks and deals available to us today.
Last year I product changed from the Freedom Unlimited to the CSP (5,400 SPL) in efforts to dip my feet into the travel perks. Early this year I applied for the PRG and it has become my go to card for everything travel related and everyday use. I also have the Discover IT (9,800 SPL) and Citi Double Cash (5,400 SPL), both I've had for about 5 years.
I've been looking into the AmEx Platinum and CSR. The annual fee for both is a little steep for me, but the return I would get would almost cancel that out. My main question is if I choose to go with the CSR, should I product change back to the FU? Considering I product changed last year, would that lower my chances of approval? Also, considering I have a somewhat of a thin file and no cards with a credit limit above 10k, do I still stand a good chance of getting approved?
I like how the CSR allows a $300 travel credit whereas the AmEx Platinum is only $200, making the annual fee sting a little less. Thanks in advance for all the advice.

I've been looking into the AmEx Platinum and CSR. The annual fee for both is a little steep for me, but the return I would get would almost cancel that out. My main question is if I choose to go with the CSR, should I product change back to the FU? Yes. Or PC the CSP to the regular Freedom. As a general rule (the complicated loophole not being relevant in your case) Chase will only let a customer have one Sapphire card at a time. The presence of a CSP will lead to a rejection for the CSR if you change nothing. So PC that CSP to a Freedom or FUnlimited card, wait maybe 3 or 4 weeks to be sure Chase updates its records, and then apply for CSR. Considering I product changed last year, would that lower my chances of approval? I doubt it. You didn't get a bonus for the CSP when you PCed (I assume) so you're not abusing anything. I got a CSP in 2015 with a bonus. I kept it until late 2017 or early 2018. I then PCed to FUnlimited and got a CSR 1.5 months ago. Also, considering I have a somewhat of a thin file and no cards with a credit limit above 10k, do I still stand a good chance of getting approved? It sounds like you have a pretty good history. I'm not quite sure if Chase has a minimum income requirement for CSR, or what it is. But the lack of a $10k limit in itself is not likely to be a problem.
