Re: Tribute Gold MasterCard Program shutting down

hi, i just checked my account after my last post & whammo !! they closed mine down too. it was the tribute gold mastercard. oh well, i'm going to look into this little deal they're trying to pull off by still charging a maintenance fee every month. they shouldn't be allowed to do that if they are closing accounts on their own.

Re: Tribute Gold MasterCard Program shutting down

It seems something funny has been going on with them. About a month ago, I checked my balance to see a payment posted of the full balance owed. Because my payment is pulled every month, I was afraid they had pulled the full balance that month. I called and was told there was a change in the funding source of my account, and I would get a new account number - the balance had just been transferred to my new account. A week later, I get a new card with a letter that says after Sept. 9, the old card would be invalid. I activated the new card and shredded the old card and went on my merry way.

Today I check and my available credit is 0 - credit line is 0, so I called. I get the recorded message about the program being discontinued. I didn't even bother talking to the customer service rep. I hung up and found this thread. It doesn't seem that they made any "decision" to discontinue the program. If they did, after spending all the time and money to set up new accounts and send new cards to everyone, they are pretty stupid. It sucks about the maintenance fee, but if you don't pay the balance in full, they should be charging interest and the maintenance fee, according to the agreed upon terms of the account. I'm not sure about the annual fee, since I can not utilize any new credit though. I'm going to go off on them if they do charge me an annual fee, but I doubt they will.

Re: Tribute Gold MasterCard Program shutting down

They best not expect me to pay any monthly maint. fees after they dropped us like a bomb without notice. I'll have to look into this and see if this is legal for them to try and pull this off. It sounds to crooked to me to charge a $ 19.00 monthly fee when they closed the account & not me.

Re: Tribute Gold MasterCard Program shutting down

I had an Imagine card over a year ago that is closed PIF, but I was late once in Feb 2008. I wonder if I can get the late or the entire TL deleted.....

Re: Tribute Gold MasterCard Program shutting down

I received a letter yesterday stating they were closing my account and that i would receive a new account number and that the program was b eing closed.  I have a zero balance all of the sudden and that is odd since they just increased my limit two months ago.   I have had this card for three years and never had an issue until this past year.

They are charging me fees i was never told about and raised my interest rate from 0 to 29.9 percent and charging me 99.00 per year to have this card. I am glad to see i  am not the only one that is getting these notices but i believe me really got scammed here, Does anyone have any advice?

Tribute Gold MasterCard Program shutting down

Imagine recently transfered this account to Tribute, and I got the notice this week that the acct was being closed.  Sounds like a calculated move by Imagine.

Anyway, I called CS, requested the acct status show closed by consumer,  I then requested that Automatic Payment Plan be terminated and my banking account information deleted from the system.  I also inquired about the monthly maintanance fee and was told that it was part of the agreement when I activated the new Tribute card.  The fee will be $10 a month.  I paid the account in full to ensure that I never had to pay the fee.

Re: Tribute Gold MasterCard Program shutting down

Sure enough, I got my letter today. Funny cause I also got a letter today from when I called last week and closed my account. I wanted to make SURE that it is reported as "closed" and not "closed by credit grantor" Ya cant trust the somanabastages!!!!! They better not remove the TL completely, I got the card 2+ years ago, got 4 CLI's and was NEVER late. Goodbye montly fee's and Annual fee's.. HELLO CITI CARD and DISCOVER! Thanks Tribute for helping me rebuild!!!

new cards should be here this week!!!

1. Macy's Visa with a VERY healthy limit on the macy's side and a HUGE limit on the Visa part

2. Discover card (dont know what the limit is yet, have to wait for the card)

3. Capital One ($500 limit but will ask for CLI on activation)

Re: Tribute Gold MasterCard Program shutting down

I just got charged my annual fee on 7/21.  What is everyone planning on doing?  Should I dispute the fee?  Cause I'm definitely not paying it.
