I never thought before that using a card while simultaneously carrying a balance may be bad, but a comment on a thread here made me wonder if I am doing something wrong. I am currently carrying a small balance on my QS1 during a 0% period. I still use this card sometimes when a vendor does not accept Disco or Amex. Am I doing something wrong by using the card while carrying a balance? I always PIF the new charges before the statement cuts, then pay at least twice the minimum payment on the balance (which will allow the balance to be paid off by the end of the 0% period).

No, there's nothing wrong with it. The only time it can be an issue is when you have a balance transfer in place, because that usually will wipe out a grace period on purchases. So if you transfer 2k onto your QS1, you want to refrain from using it for purchases at that point, because you will accrue interest on new purchases in most cases.
But in a traditional 0% promo on purchases....nothing wrong with carrying a balance and using the card etc. (Though as always, you want to mind your budget so you don't end up paying interest later!)

This is exactly what I needed to know. Thank you, KDM!
