WIll asking for a limit increase risk a decrease?

I have a us air mastercard (juniper/barclays), it has had the same 15K limit since having it full a year ago to now, being paid off completely. Unlike other cards, they have not lowered it as i have paid it down at all. My credit report shows they run a credit check almost monthly, and still dont lower it.

I am going to be using the card for business purposes now and could use a higher limit, will asking for a limit increase increase my risk of them lowering it instead?

Just to clarify here...have other card companies balance chased you?

If so, don't rock the boat.  Leave it alone.

Thanks. Also, with personal CCs, do they frown upon using them for business? Or do they not care. If I were to risk it and call for a CLI, and they ask why, do I NOT say because I will be using it for business transactions?

I don't think they care one way or the other.

What they want is an assurance that they will be repaid for any monies that they loan to you.  IMO, they don't care what the reason is.  FWIW, even business cards require a personal guarantee, in most cases, unless you are an established business with a track record and a high gross revenue.

If other lenders have balance chased you, something is reported that those lenders are not comfortable with.

Again, my opinion only, if that 15K credit line is still intact, I wouldn't push it (if it was me).

I agree with UBUP.

OP - what is your current reported utilization?  Overall and on individual cards?
