Walmart AA (UPDATE!)

Re: Walmart AA

I'd be interested to know too. Walmart is my second-smallest card now (at $4K) since I closed my Cap 1 secured, but I do use it (bought a new coffeemaker and bookcases over the past couple of weeks) and would be annoyed to have it closed all of a sudden. I actually got my most recent CLI on that card (a measly $500, but still) after I paid the card down earlier this month. I also wonder if maybe Sync took that dispute you filed with the CB about requesting to be removed as an AU on your brother's card in the wrong way. Also, again (if you didn't already say), how often were you making CLI requests? I haven't made any on my Walmart card between November and three weeks ago, so close to 4 months.

Re: Walmart AA

I dont believe it was requesting cli. Otherwise most everyone here would have a closed Wally Smiley Wink

Something happened when you disputed the AU account and its possible some sort of fraud was flagged by doing this. Do you and your brother reside together? How is is credit. Could be all a mix up but if the computer told them to close it will probably be hard to reopen. The letter should provide some light though untilthen its all speculation

Re: Walmart AA

Must confess you scared the $%^& out of me. So, I checked mine to be certain it was still open. I rarely use mine. Think I'll buy something on the way home tonight.

I am with everyone else, please update.

Re: Walmart AA

Definitely not because of the CLIs. Did you maybe accidentally added your information to removal instead of your brothers when you sent to CB?

Re: Walmart AA

I went to check my balance tonight on my Walmart card and also found that my account was closed.  I did have about a 50% balance at the time $2500 out of $5000.  I chatted online a few minutes ago and I was referred to my TU report.  The responses seemed to be scripted with no helpful answer.  My TU score according to Walmart is 682.  It has fluctuated from 682-702 over the past year.  Im fairly new to credit and my score took a dive down when my AAoA went under a year.  Another month or so it will be back up there.  I have a few new accounts, Amex, Discover and Citi in the past 6 months but have had these when I received my last CLI from $1500 to $5000.  Oh well.  My only other is Paypal 2% and that hasn't been closed as of today.

Re: Walmart AA

Sorry to hear OP, but why not just call to find out why? Then again, they may say wait for the letter. Hope everything works out for you.

Re: Walmart AA

Wow crazy indeed. Perhaps you being so new to credit and them seeing multiple new accounts plus a high utilization spooked them. I think we are starting to see banks looking at anyone who suddenly jumps up in utilization as risks and are being premptive.

Having highcredit lmits is great but seems like a carch 22, if you actually use all that credit you can be deemed a risk, if you dont you arent using your credit limit to its fullest lol. Im sure if i were to go put a couple k on my Wally theyd probably shut me down faster than you can say Barclays AASmiley Wink. It would be out of the norm as i hardly use it and when i do i pay it off as fast as possible. No blue for this average joeSmiley Wink

Re: Walmart AA

I've called and they just referred me to my credit report. I'm sure it was scripted.

Re: Walmart AA

I don't believe I did, my card was the MasterCard so it had the "DC" on the report and I disputed the one that was just the regular store card. The funny thing is I never stated that it was fraud, I just put down that I was an authorized user on the account and I wanted it removed.

Re: Walmart AA

I've called and they just tell me to wait for the letter since they can't explain why.
