They closed my walmart down as well. 6000 limit had a balance of 1200 but i pay in full every month. Not even worried about them....they can keep the card
It's a guessing game until you get the letter, but for whatever it's worth, I'm back to thinking that it was something about you being an AU on the other card, having an account of your own, then asking to be removed from the card you were an AU on, that triggered something in Synchrony's computers. I don't know if this was already asked, but were you still an AU on your brother's card when you got your own account?

Valid point!

Just logged on to my Walmart account and got the big red "Your account is now closed" ribbon on top. I think it's because of the new inquiries that I've gotten because of a car loan... Or it could be the excessive request for a CLI... Tell me what you think it is? I have 3 synchrony accounts but they only closed the Walmart account. I've never made a late payment and I've used it just last week.
I know you probably already know this, but just to be sure...
Walmart will keep the record of the older account you requested to close.
In my case when I log in, it automatically defaults to the old account first.
Make sure you are pulling up the correct account. First time this happened to me, my heart skipped a beat.
You're not going to see both cards when you log in, you have to switch the cards on the right side. One being closed doesn't mean that they both are. Hopefully, that's what it is.

Capital One also retains the records of the secured Platinum that I closed last Friday night; however, the difference is that they show all three of my accounts (open and closed) on the opening screen of the website and app so that I don't have to switch from one to the other to get to the one I want to look at, I can just go directly to the right one. Seems like Synchrony needs to update its site.
They just closed my account this morning. I requested a credit limit increase from 500 to a new limit of 2000 and was approved on Friday and then opened my account page today and they said they closed my account. I had a balance of $46 on the card and it wasn't even the credit card it was just the store card never late and always paid on time and more than the minimum. When i called they could not tell me the reason and told me that i would have to wait for a letter from Equifax to explain why Sycrony closed my account it makes no sense but good riddance to them
So many accounts being closed...sounds like a big glitch or a hack. I mea, are these CSRs really seeing a legit closrure on their systems? This is just wierd.
Did you do anything unsual with yours? applied for other cards? Balance increases?
