The final answer I got from someone in the US was it was due to inactivity and my credit score from EXPERIAN! Which makes no sense to me since SYNC uses TU for most if not all their cards and even the FICO score they give you is TU, so it's kind of just a crap answer to me.Actually Synchrony has been using Experian for Walmart cards recently. I had a case of attempted identify theft last month that Experian caught when Synchrony did a hard pull at Experian. TransUnion was not involved. I might add that I spoke with Experian, Walmart, and Synchrony that day, and all three were very professional and quite helpful.
Locked up everything today don't want to risk fraud like you had.
I ended up with the letter that stated the same reasons as you. I never bothered to call Experian about it as they wouldn't be able to dive deeper into how Synchrony does their business and nothing ever was shown on my Experian report to indicate fraud but whatever.
If anything, my FICO 8 scores stayed the same but my FICO 9 score with Experian is now at 715 vs. being at 678 last month. So I have to be doing something correct on their new grading scale.
