So I opened a Walmart card in early/mid 2019 and I'd been using it quite a bit for things we need around the house. Synchrony notified us of the change to Capital One and I was actually excited because I find my Cap1 cards to grow pretty quickly. Well, I definitely was too optimistic because the switch over has been a total nightmare. I was told I'd get my new card by mid October. It never came. I've called no less than 4 times to order my replacement card and every time they gave me a weird half-answer as to why I couldn't be helped. Once, their system was down. Another time they said the wait would be until March (MARCH?!) ... I can't be the only person having this problem. I can imagine there are probably lots of folks who plan on using their cards for holiday shopping only to be SOL come December ... I finally called a 5th time today and was able to get somebody to order me a replacement card but only after being on hold for a solid 15 minutes. What the hell is going on over there?
You should listen to the issues @GApeachy has been dealing with. Might just cancel your card rather than go through her version of hell...
Was your original card expired already or cannot use it at all? Did you received email saying specifically your new card (with last 4 digits) is on the way or was just an general email saying the new card may be send out starting Oct?

The letters I have received from Capital One regarding new card issuance all have said early 2020. The letters also indicate that the old Synchrony card is still usable until the new Capital One card is received. I have been using my card weekly ever since the transition without any issues, online and in-store. The only thing I noticed is that on-line grocery store orders show a different last four numbers for the card on the receipt but the information submitted for the actual orders are the old Synchrony card number stored in my Walmart online account. Have you actually tried using your Synchrony Walmart card since the transition?

This ^^^^ OP. I've experienced no issues with using the former SYNCB Walmart MC since the transition. Eventually, new replacement cards appear to be in the process of being issued, but the old one should still work.
No problems here either.

Yeah, He's ^^^^ right about that. I think this transition has been a cluster *(* . Though the original fault was not CapOne's, they just inherited a mess and dropped the ball more than once. You just gotta be a squeaky wheel; a very loud, squeaky wheel. I called them constantly; it's what you have to do. Although, I wouldn't cancel the card just yet, you may have to hound them on a daily and perhaps suggest closure but who'd really care..seriously. Once they clean up the saw dust off the floor I think it will be a good card, let's hope. And let's hope it's not a slow grower with Walmart Portfolio and their 3 yr plan. Good Luck, I feel for ya!
Btw: ds new cards were issued with new numbers immediately. (Twice) End of October, they came FebEx.
ETA: OP, did you throw out your old card? Have you tried using it at all?
Transition has been smooth on my end so far. All the language was saying to use your old card til the new one arrived. Everything works as it should. On the CapOne app, it now has the language on there saying activate new card but have yet to receive it.
As far as hounding CapOne goes, you'd have better luck barking at the neighbor's dog about physics... They. Do. Not. Care.

+1 I used my old car after the transition just to make sure it still worked and it did. OP if you still have your old card you should be okay until the new cards arrive.
