Ok, so I know there are numerous threads concerning the unusual reporting habits for the Walmart Card GECRB. But I noticed something about my account that I wanted to share.
By watching my balance and credit report very carefully I've discovered that this month Walmart reported to the bureau 1 day after my minimum payment due date.
The reported info was for the current cycles information. So it would appear they reported close to a week prior to my statment cycle ending, rather than after the statement cut. Now I'm not sure if this is regular behavior, I'll have to watch it for a few more months to be sure.
Has anyone else noticed them reporting before the statement cut, but directly after the last cycles minimum payment due date? Maybe we can find a trend here... ![]()
Ooohhhhh, fiddle farts, that's what it was! I updated my address the other day because we just moved. That figures, though I may be onto something... ![]()
Thanks for reminding me of that Lexie ![]()
Isn't that fairly standard?
BOFA and other cards I have all do the same, payment due date is on the last day of the statement cycle, and it closes the following day when they provide you with a new minimum payment and due date.
Traditionally speaking, this is the number that should be reported as far as balances go to the reporting agencies AFAIK. Only surprising thing to me is how quickly Walmart updated the bureaus in this instance.

Walmarts's payment due date and statement date are approx 4 days apart. In this case, OPs balance reported before the statement date due to the address update. GE uodates your CR as soon as there is an address change as opposed to waiting until the statement.

I really should pay attention more to my Wally card!

They reported once early for me and when I called they said they were required to update my cr cause I corrected my address (they left off a digit in my unit number). They then explained anytime there is an profile, au or address change they are required to notify the CB's.
After finding that out, I tried to 'push' an updated report on another GE cards by spelling out DRIVE in my address. Sure enough they would send that days information to the CB's.
ROFLMAO!!!!!!
Soon as I read this I ran over and updated my account to abbreviate DRIVE.....LOL!!!! Let's see if this works for me.
