Walmart won't upgrade store card to Mastercard without HP

It really sucks that Walmart wont PC/ upgrade their store card to their MasterCard without a HP. They just gave me a $1000 CLI, using a soft pull, but won't use that same soft pull to switch over to the MasterCard. I'll just keep the store card, not going to take a HP just to open another acct.

Yeah it really does... I called twice, trying to speak with another representative bug got the same result. If you want the MC version, you'll have to apply for it under a totally different card acct. I don't want two walmart cards, IG would've been really nice to just upgrade ANC transfer all balance/ acct info

If you do take the HP will they transfer your walmart credit line over to the new MC?

I wasn't even aware you could request this. I thought GECRB store cards were by invite only to MC upgrade.

No they won't transfer the credit line, you'll just have two separate walmart cards- store card and MasterCard. They'll be two totally different accounts.

Same experience. Closed the Walmart Store Card and moved on.

Yes, you can request it, but it's most definitely going to be a HP

Spider, what was you store card CL at the time of closing?

I wonder if Walmart does inquiries on their own, just for review. If so, I may ask them then if they can use that same report inquiry that they used for their review, and open the MasterCard acct from that. But even still, I really don't want TWO different walmart accts
