Walmart won't upgrade store card to Mastercard without HP

I got the same letter at the same time, just got the card early this week.  Got it activated and rolling today.  Good 1500 CLI as well, even thought the letter with the new card stated my old credit line.

My card finally came a few days ago.  Very excited.  I am at $1700 now. Hping they incraese it in a few months.

Devon, how has the Walmart mastercard reported to your CRA's?  A new account for the MC with no payment history?  and closed store account?

Turned down this offer based on this happening and impacting my short AAOA

Nordstrom store card upgrade works very well.  Just upgraded it to a Visa Signature.  They simply changed the account type reporting and payment history stays.

No hard pull, no new account reporting.

I won't be too sure until another few months my last pull was Oct but I did not get an alert on my credit report.  I am hoping this does not impact my CRA.  I am wondering if because of chip techonoly they are upgrading everyone.  I did ask walmart awhile ago how to get a MC and they stated I needed higher credit limit and better credit. My credit limit was $1000 when I got the letter.

Chip has itching to do with it. That's just a technology requirement in the u.s. now. You def need better credit. That's what qualifies you for a branded card vs a store card. However there are many, myself included with a decent score and high limit and haven't received an upgrade. And dust service doesn't know the requirements. I got the card just under a year ago (cold app)... (Declined Walmart discover prequal in 2012) ) staring line was $600 don't know why my score was but it was probably under 600. Current TU score 713 and $6000 limit. No upgrade offer. Smh

So I finally got fed up and sent a message to a complaint to synchrony via the website. This was Friday. The automated response said I would get a call back within 1 business day if any additional info is needed which I did today. I expressed my concerns and they said they'll look into it and I'll receive an answer by tomorrow. Crossing my fingers. Told them about my gap card as well

You realize this will be an uphill battle and unless you're offered the actual invite to upgrade neither card will be converted to a dual card.  While, the frustration has been expressed by many for several years, there's nothing any representative, Credit Solutions or SYNCB EO will be able to do to "force convert" any non-eligible accounts.  They may just send a canned response on how you can apply for either in the future.  Some folks have done this and have Walmart store & MC (once they know their scores and profiles are better/cleaner).  Then, there are those who can get stuck with two store cards.

What really? $6000 and no upgrade????  That is some weird stuff.  Then I have no idea why I recieved one.

Ok, So I actiavted my card.  My credit limit jumped from $1700 to $6000.  So weird.
