I got a pre-approval from Discover IT - yay - single APR percentage, solid pre-approval language, but with one problem - it's addressed to my maiden name, which I haven't used for a decade! And name changes void the offer.
Okay... for grins I went to the Discover "find me offers" link and find I have an offer under my married name. But that one comes with a range of APRs - a huge range, in the neighborhood of 11.99% - 24.99%.
What exactly do I have? Should I be concerned about the use of my maiden name? For what it's worth, I am an authorized user of my husband's card, so it's not as though they don't have my married name.
The one you did online is null. As that is pretty not solid--. However, if you have changed your name, call them and see if they will honor it with current name. If I were you, I wouldn't take an offer under an old name that has been changed as it only complicates things.
