Hmmm, that's definitely weird. I've never encountered such an anomaly.
What are you watching on YouTube? 😁

First image is paypal key showing Freedom used as payment source
Second one paypal summary, showing debit card used as paypal key funding source 🤕
Third one, payment on best buy website, properly reflecting paypal key.
Only thing I can think of is the payment source was changed to your debit card through a possible glitch on Paypal's end if it wasn't done by you. Otherwise I am out of ideas on how that happened 🤷♂️

First one was immediately ready to ship and charge posted on Freedom the same day.
Second order didn't process untill today (I just received email last night about order being available for pickup).
This time, charge showed up on my debit card.
I thought for sure this was a fraud since I don't remember adding debit card (apparently, when I added freedom, it also added CSR and debit card 😐).
Anyway, there is no fraud, amount is correct, but the card I used isn't where the charge ended up.
How is that possible?
Thank you
When can I expect the lovely BB gift? 😜
Tomorrow.
Excellent! Is 🧹 delivery service still available to request?
Btw, that's an interesting PPK development. I always assumed the transactions would go through on the selected CC 🤔. How did the other 2 payment methods get added?
That is an easy question to answer
Paypal makes it super duper easy to add credit/debit cards when you don't have them on hand by logging into your account and doing it for you. This is the only way I know her three cards were added
Ahh, that makes sense, and I can see the convenience for going this route hence why I do it manually. So, by going via this method, it seems to me there's no option to 'deselect' any other payment cards that get linked automatically from the issuer, meaning all or nothing.
Nope, you have to remove all, then add individually.
It's been so long, I was totally planning on doing that, but then I forgot all about it. Till today.
See, what happened to me is I used PayPal's checkout when I bought something from Best Buy for curbside pickup. By default Paypal is set to one of my debit cards so I selected the Freedom card to complete the transaction
When I submitted the order I got a text alert from my bank that debit card was used even though I am 99.96782% sure I picked stupid Chase card. What I think happened is when PayPal try to use Freedom to finish purchase and it didn't go through it defaulted to debit card to complete the transaction. It's the only thing that makes sense for my situation
Her's...I have no bleeping clue what happened there. I know the payment source can be changed for Paypal key so that's possible. But if she did the purchases back to back on Best Buy website using same key then I'm honestly stumped on what happened
Paypal platform can be a bit glitchy in many areas. Random payment methods not available. I had a time where I changed the payment method, saved it, visually confirmed then when went to make the payment, it got sent to the previous card that was linked. not only that, but I checked paypal again and the previous card was still linked as if it completely ignored the new card that I changed it to.
I assume that if for any reason the selected payment source (Freedom here) fails, the whole transaction fails? Or is there some hidden backup algorithm, "let's use the debit card" I really doubt that, but then it's hard to see what happened here!

In the terms, it says it can switch the payment method automatically if it fails. I have even heard of a case where it debited from a checking account that was on the account even though a card was linked to PPK.
I wonder if delayed shipping contributed to this. There was a hold on Freedom, but it dropped off, and next appearance happened to be on debit card.
Debit card was never associated with PayPal key, but two other credit cards were
