What Is Best Intro BoA Card? For My GF

Hey,

I know that Amex has the Delta Skymiles and Orchard has the "Stay down and shut up" Platinum. However, does BoA have a card that is known for less strict approval among their unsecured variety? Just curious as she will apply with them shortly. (675 TU with 1 past SOL collection and large au/clean history otherwise)

Thanks. I just want to give her the best info and not let her get denied due to too little current revolving cc's

Not sure if one card is easier to obtain than the other, but what is her EX?

Not sure. She will pull it tonight or tomorrow. There wasn't as much urgency to do it as it's an identical report to TU (1 6+ year old ca falling off in July) with 1 inq in about 2 years. Only difference is TU has one less positive history on record compared to EX and EQ

Thank you.

Yeah their Visa Platinum Plus is the basic no rewards card to get in with them - no annual fee I believe. You can check out the scores getting that card at whogavemecredit.com. I would also check out some rewards cards because if she is 680 + she might have a realistic shot at one of them. You can try out the preapprovals on BoA's website, if she gets an offer for one of them and whogavemecredit says people are obtaining with that score then I would go ahead and give it a try.

Goodluck!

She has an unresolved baddie. It does matter that she reports an unpaid collection whether it is past the SOL or not. It wil continue to matter until it ages off. She may well have to explain this to an issuer in order to be approved. I would go to the BofA and check for pre-approvals - you can app even if not pre-approved, and take a secured card if that is what is offered. DO NOT do a lot of app'ing - the combination of an unresolved baddie and multiple recent inquiries will not be helpful.

Hey,

She did go to the boa pre-approval and it showed her 3 cards. (whereas with me it gives me a laugh track)

The baddie she will pay off but the truth is she just wanted one card before her 10/9 trip to disney (she applied for the disney card first, was told to wait 7-10 days when called the CSR) and was considering trying BOA but it's not a sure thing that she will. Only if Disney says no.

Otherwise, she'll pay it off and let it delete naturally through the NY law. If anything, she wants to have one good cc that pulls EQ, but a lot of the cu's might be unhappy with her au heavy history and lack of cc's. We're trying so hard to just get her ONE good cc. That's all she wants; ONE

Thanks

Bingo. She REFUSES (thankfully) to app until she hears back from Chase. Even with Penfed she might want to wait, as much as she wants them. Thing is, they pull EQ and Chase will not in NYC
