What does Chase like?

So my Chase has been sitting at the same CL for some time now. I don't want to request a CLI because I don't feel it's worth a hard. (Chase always pulls hard)

Does anyone know what Chase likes to see? Do they like a lot of activity? While I haven't intentionally sockdrawered it, I haven't used it much recently. (it's non-rewards & I got two newer better cards w/ rewards) I got no lates, derogs, etc whatsoever, and always PIF. So other than that, what can I do that might catch Chase's eye?

Re: What does Chase like?

I had a Chase for a year with no auto CLI, even though my scores had skyrocketed.  I call and asked and they pulled a hard and quadrupled it

But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Re: What does Chase like?

Right now I have a Chase Platinum Visa with a 400 dollar limit.  I will pay the balance o f 127 dollars in full next week to get the balance down to zero.  But I wont use it again until August.  I tried that luv button push right after I got the card and on activation.  Yeah, they do pull HARD.  So I plan to wait and use it a little bit.  If they dont give me a CLI, I will ask for another one by the end of the year, but not at least until October.  I got to PIF them because they gave me a real dumb APR of 19.9%.  It is very dumb.

Re: What does Chase like?

call them and tell them that if they don't give you a CLI without a hard pull, then you will close the account with them and do business elsewhere. They need YOUR business...not the other way around.

Re: What does Chase like?

MHO I would call the back door # to credit analyst dept ask very nicely explain in why you need the CLI and you have a good chance of getting that CLI. I have dealt with chase and they are great their CS is awesome!!. It always helps to be nice when asking someone for something expecially financial requests. GL to you hope this helps.

Re: What does Chase like?

Would a CLI make you use the card more? Unless your Util is tight right now I doubt its worth it unless your CL is so low that its out of whack with your others. In that case it might be worth the hard if you think you can triple your line or more. You have to ask yourself - what is their right to take a few points off my score worth in terms of CL?

When I didn't get an auto-CLI at a year with Chase, I did an on-line request.  Denied; attempted recon denied.

Waited for some good things to post to my CRs, then tried again a month or 2 later.  Denied again; on recon attempt, the Credit Analyst I spoke to said they like to see a history of on-time payments and history - period.  She at first claimed I only had a year of credit history (does look like that at first - my  oldest account is at the bottom of my report).

Only after I pointed out that I'd had a year of perfect payment history with Chase themselves and 2 years with my very first CCC, plus a year of perfect payment history with all my other creditors, did she finally relent, I think checked with her supervisor, and grant me a $1K CLI.

Was like pulling teeth and cost me 2 hard inqs, but I did finally get that CLI.  Sheesh! Smiley Indifferent

Hope this helps.

Yeah I've been battling with Chase over a CLI on my card as well except I still have not gotten a CLI. My 2 year anniversary with them will be in September and they will show me no luv. They are really easy to recon for a new card but to get a CLI from them takes an act of congress. They are one tough cookie when it comes to CLIs

Re: What does Chase like?

According to my wallet they like low CL and ridiculously high APR (wont budge on this I tried phone and secure email request).

They must like non-use...
