The accounts I've closed or tried to were with issuers where I had other cards so I move most of the CL to other cards before I close them.
I have closed a $6500 Chase, $10000 Amazon Store card and a NPSL Platinum Amex Business.
30k Venture X
$1000.
It was a fee harvester.
I closed a $30K Citi card in the early 2000s (and son, that was real money then, you could buy a house for that. Well, in certain places)
And Amex helpfully closed a $50K card
$25k
Last fall Synchrony apparently had to make quarterly numbers so they simultaneously canned $74k across four tradelines, including a $35k Lowe's that had been open a whopping five days. I've only closed two cards myself--Amex Amazon Biz and Chase Disney Visa--but reallocated as much as possible beforehand.
Barclays "Luxury Card"...50k....what a joke of a card for that annual fee. Too many better options out there.
P.S. The largest transaction I could do at a time was 10k....the CSR said to do multiple transactions...WTH ....

"WTH"... 🤣 😂
this is exactly what I was thinking.
A Chase card with a $9.6K limit... this was before I discovered they may allow a transfer of a portions of one's credit limits from one card to another. 🤷 😅
40K.....BMO Diners Club.....they pissed me off.....
