Check at americanexpress.com/applicationstatus I got the 14 day notice for my BCE but was approved on the app status site within 5 minutes.

I've been checking hourly and it says check back in 24 hours

LOL. I reckon back in the days when everything by mail it may have taken at least a month for a credit card to be approved. A few hours or days was most likely unheard of.

LOL! Mail in a paper application and then wait weeks to get an envelope in the mail that you bent to see if it had a card in it or if it was a denial letter.

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

My parents talk about that stuff all of the time. How if you wanted a toy or something it was all through a catalog and by the time it was delivered you had forgotten it was ordered. I can't imagine waiting weeks for a package. Even having to wait until the statement arrived to make sure everything was as it should be. I have withdrawl symptoms five minutes after the electricity goes out lol.
